Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmavati starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor in titular roles may reportedly have a 3D release.
On 30 October, the Padmavati unit will apparently break the news with an extensive marketing campaign.
“Until then, everything is being kept under wraps. Given that time is a constraint, ahead of the film’s 1 December release, a team of Hollywood technicians are working on making it suitable for a 3D outing, as the patchwork continues in Mumbai, simultaneously. The executives were excited after watching the trailer. They told producers Viacom 18 that the film must be seen in 3D for viewers to enjoy the filmmaker’s vision. Bhansali was on board too. In Padmavati, the audiences will experience the battles fought in 3D,” said an unverified source, according to a Mid-Day report.
Paramount will reportedly release Padmavati in a 100 countries. The film is apparently mounted on a Rs 170 cr budget, and will also be dubbed in Telugu and Tamil in order to appeal to a pan-India audience.
The film sees Padukone in the role of Rani Padmini, while Kapoor plays Maharawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh plays Allauddin Khilji.
Padmavati is all set to hit the silver screen on 1 December.
